There is no such thing as the best Operating System for everyone considering the fact users have various preferences as discussed in this blog post.
By the way I prefer windows and hopefully, on reading this blog post you will understand my preference and yours. Now let's start with the one trillion dollars giant Apple Computers who are more constrained to North America. Apple OS is especially for those with the budget to purchase anything Apple related in a constrained apple environment, those who want that smooth user experience and escape from the windows throttling or bugs. Apple users usually consider Windows OS as old, ugly and dull. I have also noted those neat guys who just wish to admire their OS looks prefer apple over windows, those rich celebrities who do light work like admiring photos and browsing. Finally, correct me if am wrong, Apple being Linux kernel based related has gained popularity among web developers, software developers, and data scientist, and those who do photo and video editing using some Adobe Softwares.
Linux OS on the other is common among those broke tech geeks who would wish to dodge some the Apple or Windows or any other license fee. Linux OS users have a cause for open source, and they prefer to do simple things the hard way just to feel in control or smarter than everyone. I admire Linux users because they ensure that Microsoft won't overcharge us with their license fee because we are just a Linux away from Windows. I don't know much about Linux OS but from what I had from users Linux has to be the most stable OS, commonly preferred for servers. Revisiting the fact that Linux users want to feel in charge, Linux has to be the most flexible and customizable OS with most specialties and varieties.
Now Google Chrome OS or the browser OS only gains traction among those who are curious to experiment with new stuff. Well, that includes me. I tried Google OS and hated it form the word go. Anyway, Google OS users usually have those with amazing reliable internet speeds and trust these tech giants so much that they wouldn't mind having all their stuff stored in the cloud. Google hardware happens to be budget and those broke budget users who would wish to dodge the Apple or Windows license fees and those beginners who use computers just for browsing. Well, good internet and broke people won't match. I wish Google would try to readjust to local use before cloud use first especially in the third world countries with low internet connections. That way Google may compete with windows in the budget PC segment as internet connectivity grows. Google, unlike any other tech giants, is more than capable of making PCs or handheld devices affordable to everyone on the entire globe.
Finally, considering most PC users like me around the world are more quit acquainted to the Windows user interface than any other OS, Windows OS is common for all those who have been bought up using Windows OS. Windows OS users are those who learned to use windows at school and at work. Unlike Gooogle Chrome OS, Windows OS users, especially in the third world, have terrible internet speeds. Mmmmmh, this is not a laughing matter here but we Windows Users have become accustomed to viruses, security concerns, the crazy windows related bugs, and throttling effects and the blue screen of death. We are here to stay and we won't leave any matter the bug or the crazy Windows 10 updated bugs. If there is one thing that Windows OS beats the rest is versatility. Every kind of user or supplier is on Windows. Well, you know where am headed with this? Well, everyone who works most organizations around the globe that use windows, won't avoid windows. Windows is also common amongst the heavy-duty users like those with the crazy CAD software, those gamers with some crazy budget for some crazy graphics cards, those who want to assemble their own PC's. Well, I have to admit that Windows users like my dad like trying new stuff. Well, try to install Linux OS on your dad's PC. Now, if your dad won't freak out maybe he is a geek like you. Anyway, my final point is that Windows home users being the common users with the lesser technical know-how about PC feel that Linux OS feels and looks weird and too technical for them.
NB: About Unix OS. All I know about Unix is that its old, stable, super geeky and with no icons. Keep Posted will discuss about Unix and other Operating Systems in the future.
